Curly: Gee! Ain’t nature wonderful!
Hilarious! The scene continues with the Stooges completely unaware that the coins, bills, and bonds they’ve dug up are anything but natural deposits. We laugh especially at Curly – how can anybody be so foolish as to believe that natural forces only produced such complex things that obviously had to have been made by humans? There’s absolutely no possible way that natural forces, on their own, undirected by any intelligence, could produce printed paper and bags of minted metal coins. Even the fact that they were buried underground indicates human involvement. They were obviously the products of design –
I mean, who would see such blatant examples of design and think nature just randomly produced them?
So – when people look at living cells, which must have a basic design that is infinitely more complex than the non-living world around it… which can all do some kind of respiration to break down glucose to make ATP… which must be able to reproduce exactly, including the information to precisely make all the proteins those cells need to live… which can’t survive without food and oxygen… which depend on cells figuring out – somehow – how to make food and oxygen using sunlight, water, and carbon dioxide… which we, with all our computers and technological skill can’t replicate… and many other things that show someone’s design, without which life on earth is impossible… and “smart” people look at it all and say:.
“Ain’t nature wonderful!”
